The Tangled Web, a semi-comic opera based on the play The Palace of Truth by W.S. Gilbert, was performed at Thames Valley Grammar School on the nights of 27th, 28th and 29th November 1975. The cast was:

Flairon, a courtier attendant on King Phaeto John Walker
Thoram, a courtier attendant on King Phaeto Matthew Prendergast
Mephistogar, Philamir's servant Christopher Goddard
Benedict, steward of the Palace of Truth Andrew King
Raynem, a crusading knight Michael King
Hylas, a crusading knight Alex Stewart
Queen Aspidistra, wife to the King Zoë Johnson
Zeolide, their daughter, betrothed to Philamir Anne Cambridge
Mirza, Zeolide's friend Ruth Shelton-Jones
Frances, Zeolide's friend Caroline Samuels
Matilda, an adventuress Penny Vickers
Amnestra Sheree Rosenberg
Nancy, noblewoman, wife to Raynem Jo Marmoy
