The Breed of the Treshams by "John Rutherford" (Evelyn Greenleaf Sutherland and Beulah Marie Dix) opened at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, on 28th September 1902. Martin Harvey played the part of Reresby the Rat; his wife (under her stage name of Miss N. da Silva) that of Batty. He last performed  it on 20th November 1934 at Brighton.
