Incidental music to
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Part Two

Introduction

A shortened version of the introduction to Part One, with the conflict between Aslan and the Queen omitted.

Drip, drip, drip

The snow begins to melt. Aslan is there in the music, but can you spot where?

The Picnickers

A flower! And the snow continues to melt. You can hear the water rushing onwards by the end. Have you spotted Aslan's theme yet?

Aslan presents the horn

Aslan's theme at its simplest.

Aslan appears

Aslan's horn calls ring around the theatre.

Aslan's Death and Resurrection

First the Queen, with the shattering A minor chord from the Introduction. Then Aslan's theme resplendent in full harmony.

The Final Battle

Built on an insistent rhythm on the Queen's note: Referring back to the F minor scales in the Introduction.

First the Queen, menacing and brutal, surrounded by swirling A minor scales, again referring back to Aslan in the Introduction. Eventually the music slows and Aslan's theme is heard, first distantly and then gradually overwhelming the Queen.

As the climax builds, the speed of the music increases and the insistent F in the bass slowly rises to the note A (=Aslan).

The Battle ends on a massive A major chord with Aslan victorious.

The Children return home

As the children return home to the Human world, Lucy's theme returns to end the play.
